Then Prophet Nuh (AS) opened the Ark and allowed the believers and animals to come inside. Nuh was called as a Prophet to his people, sharing the universal message of Tawhid: believe in One True God (Allah), and follow the guidance He has given.
The Prophet along with his followers at once put Allah’s order into practice and started making an ark.
Everyone who had not believed the prophet was drowned in the flood and all those who listened and boarded the ark were saved. It is believed that Nuh and his people lived in the northern part of ancient Mesopotamia--an arid, dry area, several hundred kilometers from the sea. Behold, their brother Noah said to them: 'Will you not fear Allah? Allah SWT asked Noah (AS) to build an Ark away from the sea with wood and tools. These people had no understanding of Allah the Almighty Who would punish them for their evil deeds, they became cruel and immoral. They thought these gods possessed manly power; mutability, beauty; brute strength, swiftness, sharp sight, and insight power. The exact time period when Prophet Nuh (Noah in English) lived is unknown, but according to tradition, it is estimated to be ten generations or ages after Adam.
