Love the super bargain prices but if I go any other time I buy my tickets from AAA at 8 each. The tickets were slightly overpriced for the experience.
The most comfortable movie experience ever! I was most definitely let down. The theaters were clean and the movie started on time. Vestavia Carmike is a good, clean theater... in my experience. Nice seating and easier to get in than a lot of other theaters around. I recently got a free medium popcorn reward :) This can even be scanned off of your phone if youre so savvy. There were very few menu items available at 6:30 when we got there. Child tickets for 2 - 12 years. First of all, I suppose movie tickets are just generally more expensive in Birmingham or else we're just seriously spoiled with Marcus Crosswoods theater and their reclining, reserved seating. The place was very clean. I don't see why not. Love this one more than the other Carmikes in Birmingham since it isnt as crowded and it doesnt seem to have as many parents dumping their kids unsupervised as the others. Over the years the quality has gone down. We were absolutely shocked and ripped off. However, when I did that, the ticket taker had no idea what to do, tried to tell me to go the concessions counter (? Kids would not shut up during movie so I left. Vestavia Carmike is a good, clean theater... in my experience. The beer taps were empty. Good specials for weekday movie going groups. I have to say that for the price, the location to some really good food spots, and friendliness of the staff AMC Vestavia is doing things right. In the hallways, behind the counters... there was popcorn piled up in the corners... of the BATHROOM!
More and more people came in and it caused a major ripple and everyone was being shifted around and we were ALL pissed .
Also being in a non-action movie but the audio was quaking... so not sure how often that happens. Given its proximity to our favorite sushi joint, the husband and I opted to come to this movie theater for our annual Christmas Day Star Wars movie. The experience was kind of a let down. There's nothing that echos the nostalgia of childhood quite like taking a Friday or Saturday night trip to the movies. I used to really enjoy this theatre, but lately the quality has gone downhill. The last movie I went to showed a 1:45 start time. Movie is still watchable and it is just as comfortable, unless you don't like being close at all.
Since I didn't know how busy it would be, I bought tickets online, which included a convenience fee of $3.22 plus $0.28 tax. The sound was very good. The decorum is worth going alone. It was my first time going and I had high expectations. I enjoy this theatre not real crowded. But, it gets worse when we got up to order 3/4ths of the menu was gone. Adequate. There were very few menu items available at 6:30 when we got there. Went to the 7pm showing New Years Eve.
Adding a bar doesn't help the element either. Great family atmosphere.
I went to complain to the next day (because it was so late by the time the movie ended) and the line was so long at the customer service desk and there was not an employee around. There ran out of products (chicken wings and Brussel sprouts). Their mistake !! Typically pretty pleasant. As I was talking to the reps others came out demanding their money !! We didn't know until others came in and asked us to move. They offer discount prices on movies and snacks every Tuesday. One of the staff members even went as far as to sweep underneath my brother's feet. The actual movie theater itself was ok but nothing to write home about although, of course, idk if there are any better ones in the area since we were just visiting. Once or twice the bathrooms could've used attention but overall acceptable. If 3D is your thing... they offer it here. Chicken sandwich was warm, had the consistency of rubber and didn't have any condiments. We were able to get closer to the stage and the acts! Get your swag on with discounted movies to stream at home, exclusive movie gear, access to advanced screenings and discounts galore. Really good movie theatre. As I said in my tip, though, if you find yourself here maybe just do yourself a favor and skip the concessions, which are lacking in menu offerings but overflowing with attitude. Since we had tickets we weren't moving . Easy parking. Unlike the Summit (down 280) which is usually kids who have been dropped off by their parents, this theater rarely has the annoyances of public movie theaters. Total cost, $22 for two adults for a matinee. However, we did not receive our food until an hour and ten minutes after ordering. AMC Dine-In Vestavia Hills 10 is a Yelp advertiser. Had to wait at the bar for about 15 minutes for a drink. It wasn't.
