The waiter was very kind and helped us order, as we don't speak any French. Opt for 10oz Top Sirloin, baseball cut served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables, it’s a delight. The Nutella dessert pizza was off the hook. The waiter suggested hot peppers in the side, which I used sparingly but quickly discovered drizzling some of the spicy olive oil on the pizza made for a nice upgrade. People are grasping how much the warm weather is still lingering around. 3.5 starsI came here to eat on the terrasse on a weekday. Yeah you're in the middle of the tourist area, but tucked away a bit. The drinks were decent and the service was good. Spicy oil with peppers is a complimentary choice. Our meal showed up 1 hour after we ordered at a time when few people were in the restaurant (other patrons who sat down 30 min after us were already eating). They have a massive stone pizza oven in the back, so the pizza was really well cooked. I love wood-fired pizzas, so when I finally took the time to visit Bevo, I had to try one of theirs, I ordered the Bosco in Bianco which is composed of roasted mushrooms, mozzarella and black truffles with a pitcher of sangria. We understand that certain meals take long than others so we requested part of our meal early. It was delicious. You can then discover the dishes that are famous for these establishments alone, as a couple or with friends! Unfortunately we were FORCED to order olives which also came with a delicious creamy dip and warm pita bread along with our drinks at cleanse-our-palate place. Our reservation was at 8 pm, but we got our table around 8:20 pm. It's towards the end of summer in Montreal. I would have hoped that the restaurant would have noticed that the patio was where most of the people were, and sent another server to help take care of the traffic. I always enjoy playing the role of a tourist when coming to Old Montreal even thou I live here. If there’s one thing that Montrealers know it’s that brunch is always a great idea (like Paris)! They had one server working the entire patio, which apparently spurred a number of people coming to the place shortly after we did. Here, as you surely know, Italy is in the spotlight and where the table d’hôte selections comprise of the entire everyday menu! Pizza here is really good. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was fully packed. Let yourself be transported by the finest of French cuisines by tasting, to start, the grilled vegetable ‘mille-feuille’ with chive crème and basil pesto to start, Paprika and maple grilled guinea fowl, green peas quinoa, sautéed pattypan, mustard cream or a homemade wild mushroom ravioli with truffle cream sauce as a main, topped off with a caramel and salted butter light mousse, toffee sponge and crispy almond strudel! He was absolutely wonderful.The calamari was really good and the rest of the things we ordered were good.The atmosphere and the music was fantastic and I would recommend it here if you're in a big group or simply looking for a fun evening. The line outside indicated that there was going to be a wait. Normally good food and tourist trap don't socialize in the same sentence however in this case, they are very intimate. Just some fried calamari and a couple of pizzas, but everything was dead on point and no qualms at all about recommending the place. A great stop in the early evening.
That is why 5 of the participating restaurants in 2019 Happening Gourmand are also offering table d’hôte brunch specials every Saturday and Sunday. I wouldn't skip this spot if you're in the area, especially since there's tons of better Italian restaurants to choose from.
